Lots of new words!

Nearly 18 months old now and Caleb is saying lots of "words". he'll repeat nearly anything you ask him to and he imitates sounds like sneezes, groans, and burps.

He says "hi" very clearly, with inflection that suggests a greeting. He waves bye-bye whenever we get in the car.

He calls Elmo "Malmo" and can sort of say "elbow".

He can climb up on to the sofa and off again by himself... and does so frequently. He has figured out how to turn the light in his room on, so we have to pull his crib away from the wall when we put him to bed.

He knows how to play "music" on the piano app on matt's iPad and also knows to tap on the screen to make things happen and move around.

He's getting very good with a fork and spoon and generally prefers to feed himself.

Foods he's liking now: scrambled eggs, barbecued zucchini, blueberries!, cucumber, hummus, cookies.

His latest discover is ice cream! He can eat a kid-sized cone with minimal mess, apart from an ice cream-y chin and some on his shirt.

He is trying to pull his pants up himself after being changed.

He can find pictures of specific items in his picture books (kitties, birds, balls, etc)

Caleb's Stats

I'll have to go back and dig out the old height/weight stats (but they're not that extensive, as DrSmith doesn't measure height and is only worried about getting a rough weight).

Rights now, Caleb is 32 3/4 inches tall and about 25 or 26 lbs. He's quite a string bean.

He has lots of teeth: 6 on top (with some more coming through) and six on bottom.

Not a whole lot of hair - I have still only had to trim the back at the bottom where it starts to get kind of long so he doesn't get a mullet.

Stuff Caleb Eats

Favourites foods include cheese(!), toast with cream cheese, banana, sliced turkey, grapes, pears, blueberries, pasta (sometimes), parmesan sprinkled on anything, cheese bun from Hot Oven.

He used to love cheerios, but now they're more hit and miss. He sometimes likes chicken and other cooked veggies.

He doesn't like anything too hot (ie, vaguely warm to the touch).

He likes to dip (in ketchup, hummus or guacamole). He used to like yogurt but now thinks it's too sour.

He likes to use his own fork to stab things on the tray and feed himself.
